Gerry and I decided to head over to Lake Chelan for the Fourth of July. We wanted to escape the all night noise caused by the pyromaniacal patriotism that is rampant in our neighborhood. It was really hot over there so I tried letting Reed splash his feet in the lake, but I think the combination of big open water, waves and the fact that the water if fairly cold, was all too much for him. Instead, we went for our old favorite, bath-in-the-kitchen-sink. Reed is usually happy to take a 10 or 15 minute bath, but when he stayed in for over a half hour (maybe closer to 45 minutes) I knew he was appreciative of the cool down.
In order to escape the heat, we let Reed takes his naps outside in the shade (don't worry, he had on lots of sunblock!).
And the next day we took several more baths. We thought he might like to get into the kiddie pool, but we tried several times, with various water temperatures, and it was definitely not a hit!
