Reed, Spring and I went to the Puyallup Fair today. We had lots of fun and Reed said his favorite part was going on the rides. This time he went on the rides all by himself. His favorite was the canoe ride which was my favorite when I was a kid and Grandpa D's favorite when he was a kid!
After the fair, we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a nap. When Spring saw Mocha, she pointed at her and said "gah". Now I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that she may have been trying to say dog! She repeated it several times, and later in the evening, back at home with Gerry, I said to Spring "I wish Daddy could have heard you say dog" to which she promptly replied, "gah"! Each time she said it, it was different from her usual babble and it seemed like she was trying to work her mouth in order to make the right sounds. It also seems that she's signing for "all done" these days. Either that, or she's just shaking her hands in frustration because she doesn't want to be in her high chair! I'm not sure I remember what Reed's first word (besided Dada and Mama) was, but I very clearly remember his first sign was for milk. Reed communicates so clearly now and it's exciting to think about how soon Spring may be doing the same!
