February

One of the highlights of February was a trip to visit the upland portion of the Tom Farmer Oyster Co. Gerry buys fresh oysters from him all summer long at the farmer's market. He had repeatedly invited us to come see his operation, so we decided to take him up on the offer.

Here Spring and I are holding an enormous oyster shell.

We found an earthworm that Spring decided to hold.

And a rough-skinned newt that nobody but Mommy wanted to hold. I'll turn them into herpetologists yet!

Grandpa brought a load of wood over and both Spring and Reed, but especially Reed, helped unload and stack the wood.

Reed would get the wood out.

Put it in his wheel barrow.

He put some in Grandpa's wheel barrow too.

Then he would take it back to our wood shed.

And stack it up! What a helper!!! :)

Spring helped for a while, but soon found she would rather play in the cab of the truck. :)

I took R and S out for a hike at the Theler Wetlands. You can probably tell from their posture in this picture that despite the sun, it was COLD!

It was better in the woods where the trees sheltered us from the wind. R and S spent some happy time tossing sticks into the little spring here.
